How the estimate works
The base rate per acre depends on how dense the vegetation is. Terrain adjusts that rate up for rolling, steep or rocky ground. Add-ons like mobilization, stump work, debris hauling and grading are added at fixed reference rates and are not affected by terrain.
The range shown is 15% below and above the total, because density and ground conditions vary across most properties. For a firm number, see our forestry mulching service or request a quote.
Calculator questions
How do I estimate my acreage?
Your property deed, tax map or a satellite map tool will show lot size. For part of a lot, pace off the length and width in feet, multiply them and divide by 43,560 to get acres.
Which vegetation type should I pick?
Light brush is mostly shrubs and thin saplings. Medium brush has denser growth with small trees. Heavy brush and trees means many stems over a few inches thick. Dense hardwood is a closed stand of hardwood trees.
What is mobilization?
The cost of trucking the forestry mulcher to your site and back. It is a single charge per job, not per acre.
Why does terrain change the price so much?
Slopes and rocks slow the machine down and wear the mulching teeth faster. Rocky ground adds 50% because the operator has to work carefully around stone.
Is this a quote?
No. It is a planning estimate based on reference rates, shown as a range. We confirm the price after a site visit.
